Pitmaster Allen Seamans

Allen, was born and grew up in the Sacramento area. At a young age he had a passion for cooking and the culinary arts. His dream was to attend a culinary arts school and become a chef. That dream never came about and he ended up in the transportation industry. Besides cooking he also had a love for great BBQ. He continued to cook and BBQ over the years. After a early retirement in 2012 he knew there was more to great BBQ than what he was doing. After some research he found a one day BBQ school in SoCal. After attending the BBQ school in 2013 he started to attend some BBQ competitions just to see what they were all about. He continued to practice what he had learned at the BBQ school cooking for the neighbors. Also during 2013 he attended a class and became a certified BBQ judge. In July of 2013 his younger brother called saying he seen a flyer about rib cook-off in Woodland, Ca. Allen thought he might as well put his BBQ skills and what he had learned and compete in the rib cook-off. Needing a name for the rib cook-off Pork Daddy’s BBQ was established. He loaded up his truck and headed to Woodland, Ca. to compete in his first competition. Well much to his surprise he took 1st place in the rib cook-off. A few weeks later he entered a KCBS event in the backyard division. He took 1st place ribs and 3rd in chicken in that event and took the Grand Championship in the backyard division. A friend of his came up to him after the competition and told him to quit messing around in the backyard division and go pro. Early in 2014 a competition BBQ team was put together and Pork Daddy’s BBQ started doing BBQ competitions. 2014 was a great year for Pork Daddy’s BBQ and as a rookie took 1st place ribs, pork, and was named the CBBQA Rookie of the Year. Pork Daddy’s BBQ still competes and now does catering featuring competition style BBQ.
